What I Ate In Barcelona

There are endless possibilities for foodies. You can walk around different neighborhoods & peek into restaurants, book ahead & make reservations for some of the well known ones, or grab & go at different markets. The adventure is up to you!

EL NACIONAL

Pulpo Gallego en dos cocciones con patatas y alioli/Twice cooked Galician octopus with potatoes & aioli. This was my #1 favorite dish from the entire trip!

BAR KET

2 X TRUITA AMB PA/ 3X CAFE CON LECHE/ 1 X XURROS = 13.65 EUROS (Such a good deal & quick breakfast at the local Mercat del Ninot.)

DAFUDON

19.50 Euros for an all you can eat buffet per person! It was good quality Japanese cuisine. You can also order a la carte, but our family really enjoyed ordering unlimited food after walking around so much.

GUELLY SANDWICHPARK

A popular churro, sandwich, coffee spot not too far from Park Guell. We stopped here right after our time at Park Guell. It is a really nice view where this is located.

ROSSINI PIZZERIA RISTORANTE

This is one of the best pizzas I’ve tasted! (coming from someone who grew up in Chicago & now lives in NYC, but don’t take my word for it…just my humble opinion)

GUELL TAPAS

No trip to Spain would be complete without trying paella which I knocked out on my first night.

I had to try the flan. Growing up in the Philippines where flan is very heavy on sugar, this version was delightful & done just right! Not overloaded with sugar but just the right amount. Flan has always been one of my top favorites for dessert.

Bizcocho Larpeira con crema catalana quemada/Larpeira is a typical sponge cake from Galicia, with creme brulee. This was my dad’s postre/dessert of choice for his birthday dinner.

One of many market finds! I tried a croqueta in this food stall, but as you can see here, there are many little tapas & meats & cheeses options. Yummy!
