Your Content Strategy in 2025
In no particular order, here are 10 things I would do if I was starting over today as a creator:
1) Act like your own media house right from the start. You get to control the narratives. Each post is a story & article coming out. Take yourself seriously before anyone else does!
2) Spend time engaging with people that have the same interests. It matters more that your content is being seen by people actually interested. Don’t waste time trying to be everything for everybody. Find your people.
3) Experiment as much as possible with the different content forms. Switch up the carousels, reels, stories. Mix up your designs. Make it fun to create each post! Act like an editor. This doesn’t mean perfect posts. Adapt the mind of an editor.
4) Seek to put out helpful information. Each post doesn’t need to be super serious, but I think I would concentrate on having a purpose with each piece of content.
5) Find ways to monetize your content right from the start or at least have it in mind when you’re crafting your feed. Why spend so much time in the social matrix if you don’t at least try to monetize your content as a creator. Set yourself up for success so you can pitch yourself to agencies, brands, hotels, etc. if you eventually want to have that possibility. Also, why not be open to that abundant outcome?!
6) Take necessary social media breaks as needed. Fuel your creativity with everything that makes your soul feel good. This spaciousness lets more of your spark through, & I feel where great content comes from! It’s also good to remind yourself that it’s not your real life. Go walk outside, spend time with your family, call a friend, breathe, sit, do nothing. It’s like choosing to stay in an office overtime & never clocking out. As a creator, you need to clock out A LOT!
7) Collaborate with other brands & creators. If you find like-minded creators IRL, even better! I think the support helps mentally to stay inspired. I’ve recently found such a new level of appreciation for the creator community. People are so creative & full of ideas. There are literally such beautiful creatives out there making the internet a better space to be in!
8) Focus on quality not quantity. Ignore the advice that you need to put out as much content as possible. If you are putting out so much content with zero quality, I think you are better off taking your time. I think so much of the brand messaging gets lost in translation when there are 1,000 posts that end up being the same because you are trying to catch an unnecessary deadline that you made for yourself. Hate to break it to you, but I don’t think people care that much when everyone is scrolling so fast. They say our brains now have a shorter attention span than a goldfish by 1 second. WTF! I don’t know the validity of that insane statistic. Regardless, your posts are most likely going right past most people’s heads so you should craft better quality content for those 8 seconds on average before they move on to the next post!
9) I would find some kind of posting schedule that works for my mental health. I would take the pressure off & schedule my social media content so I have more time for myself. There’s so many apps now for scheduling posts! Utilize them & free up your time for ideas & to relax.
10) I would be as real as possible. This is expanding on #4, but it drives the intent to use the platform for the highest good. If you can highlight things really worth knowing & possibly change & uplift lives, I think that would be really showcasing how this platform can be used! Think about how fast people organize & rally together to help each other when disasters happen. There is so much good that comes from being able to have these platforms! We just need more unified voices with the same pure intent as creators or as I really like to call it as amplifiers!
